Welcome back for Apartment Therapy's Offline Design Meetups 2008. Next month we're kicking off a new format, which will consist of three parts: a. design presentations b. house tour and c. good questions. We've already booked a remarkable house tour and have spaces open for amateur and professional designers...

Thanks to your input at our last Meetup in December, we're structuring the meetup to be a bit more like the blog in that it will have a few sections that resemble features online.

1. Designer Showcase (3 spots)

This is where we feature new, fresh and upcoming designers and their ideas. Each designer gets 5 minutes to present and 5 minutes for questions. We then blog you online and get you and your idea out into the world.

2. House Tour (1 spot)

This is a personal house tour (via slideshow) of a notable home by the designer him or herself. You don't need to be a pro. We'll be pulling house tours from our readers online and you can feel free to email us if you're interested in highlighting your prowess. We'll also put this online.

3. Good Questions (infinite)

Many had asked for more chances to ask questions, schmooze and chat. This is it. We'll end each session with a space for good question directed at either the house tour, the designers or the folks in the room.

We're taking a break in AUGUST!

On the 1st Thursday each month at 7PM, 6 people get 5 minutes each to demo something cool to New York's product and furniture design community (product and furniture designers, architects, entrepreneurs, students, hackers, etc).

We got off to a great start in May (despite a noisy bar) and will be looking to pick up steam and move to a quieter SoHo location in June. I am going to broaden the scope a bit and invite designers from interiors, to product, to furniture and even web applications for interior design.
